Nat, love the shot. Very "Europeon flavor" !!! I must admit, at 5000 iso, I would have a picture of noise only. The image Don commented on, looks to me like it was taken out of a plane window.....tres cool! As for the rest....TOTALLY USELESS!!!! Just kidding, this is a real nice collection of what appears to be almost exclusive night shots (the hardest kind of photography in my opinion).

I must admit that this is my favourite from the entire album. This image draws me in, makes me feel like I am actually moving into the space, very nice. Your high ISO night shots are also very well done and the image quality makes me proud to be a Nikon user.

Hi Valarie. I just checked out your blog.......VERY IMPRESSIVE!! Some of the images on there (particularly the collages) should be posted here! For this image that I am commenting on, I noticed the iso at 1600, shutter speed is slow and your at f1.8??? yet it's blurry......was this intentional??? I must say, if it was an accident, I love the final effect......Xmas........"in the background".....very nice!!!

Rachel, I really like this image. A creative shot of stuff that you probably look at daily (lol). Love the shadows happening in the background.....and you appear to have used all natural / ambient lighting (your iso is set to 1600). Also your decision to us a wide agle focal point (18mm) and apperature at F4.....gives good depth of field play!!! Well done.

Alex, I love this shot too......but the water (?) appears to be white.......almost like snow???? I then started thinking.........As good a shot as this is......I wonder what it would look like as a winter/ xmas scene???? Nevertheless, also a well executed piece here.

I new you love yourself, but this just unconditional LoVe :) really, it`s not my choice, but I would use slow flash with long exposure and leave the scene just after flash fight... then you will still see yourself and the background behind you... but then you will appear hyaline, so, don`t know how you like it :)

I love the clean, simple shots......this is one of them! I also like the b&w version better.....makes the reflective sun on the top of the fence and the shadow lines on the ground "pop" more. Great job Nat.

Ramone, of all the sunflower pic's posted by all the members....this one "wins" the prize in my mind!!! VERY VERY WELL DONE! The way this one is framed around the trees...shadows cast onto the grass and then the breathtaking sunflowers only as a back drop....you stepped out of the box whether your aware of it or not. I would want this one on my wall...pity it wasn't taken for the festival.

I used all three types of lenses. Not sure what you would get, though. The field does have some good angles and is not totally flat. The ladder really helped for some of the landscape shots. Even by the fence provides some good images. The beauty of telephoto and macro lenses is they allow you to blur out the bg.

The field is on the west side of the road, so it's best to go in the morning, if you can or on an overcast day. I did have a ladder which helped for some of the shots! But there's some great close-ups, as well, so bring your macro. As Holly said, they are all in or near full bloom, so don't wait too long. Take the next right after the Foodland store on HWY 11, towards Barrie, in Stroud, and then turn right on the 20th Sideroad. Good luck!

All these pic's are very good!! The quality of the pic's looks bang on to me. The colors seem brighter and sharper.....then again, maybe it's my new moniter (lol)......very nice!!!

Marsha, this candid/portait is wicked. The way the light hits her face, the wardrobe, the background noise (like it was taken on a bus or something)....looks too natural to be a set-up photo.....but then looks too well done to be just another candid. Me liky!!! Paul

Ara, this shot is extremely well composed. Night shooting I find is challanging at best........then add the fact that your subject is moving and is only present for a short time........very well done! The ice cream truck and the purple haze in the sky adds to the mystery and simply makes the picture that much more appealing. My camera stayed at home:( Paul

Natalia, this is seriously good shi#!!! Your timing of the moon placement is impacable. Love the use of reflective surface also. You should have had the lable of the beer or cigar more visable and sold this pic to the respective manufacter/company. Looks totally pro! Very well done......and by the way, I see you have been playing with photoshop a bit now!?!?!? no!?!?

Alex, for a point and shoot camera, this one is amazing. I love how the light looks like it's coming up through the centre of the flower. The 3.25 f-stop also offers a wicked bouquet to really accentuate this peice. Very nice.

F5.6, Shutter speed 1/30th.........AND ISO 1250???????? By the sky in the backdrop, I would have thought that this was naturally much brighter than it obviously was. My camera I don't think would produce such a natural looking photo with these settings.....nicely done Alex.

Natalia, you never showed me this shot by my car??? I really like this one also. The cloud formation makes the picture look like an hdr .......but by your camera settings, it's not! Very well done. By the collection included in this album, I clearly need to go with you and your husband on your next trip......I seem to be missing a lot of really cool photo opps here!!!

Alex, I have no idea why I like this pic....but I do. Feels very early morningish. I think it brings me back to a place I once visited in Scotland? Also like the street one you posted today.....looks soooo clean you could eat off it. Alex, I really like this one. Several reasons. First your choice to do it in b&w. The high contrast of the sky (dark), vs. the Birch bark trees (very bright white). Capturing the natural light in the direction you did (casting shadows off the trees onto the snow) and last but not least, the shear simplicity........three clusters of birch trees at diferent depths across a snow covered field......for winter scenes this one makes me want my parka even in front of my computer moniter now!! Good job.

I have been debating what to comment here for some time now and feel that the truth is best. The images in this album show that the new Sony has not diminished your creative talent - all are inspiring. I really don't want it to appear that I am saying you wasted your money on the Sony, I am sure that having the new camera has encouraged you to get out and take pictures while the rest of us huddle up at home. I hope you will bring some larger prints to a meeting so that we can see the difference in sharpness and quality that I am sure the Sony has produced. Keep up the good work and one day you will understand the joy of owning a Nikon.
